Toumalinated quartz is a most beautiful and interesting combination of two independanly beautiful minerals into one. The inclusions of tourmaline within the quartz can vary from simple ‘strings’ to clouds of shade and I think I’ve shown the beauty of this in my selection of tourmalinated quartz beads for this simple necklace. The range of difference between each of the beads make each one unique and I have strung them randomly to mimic the way in which these differences are achieved in nature. A sterling silver clasp completes this piece, which measures about 18 inches from end to end.
Tourmaline is the modern birthstone for October and it is suggesed that tourmalinated quartz is a very ‘energising’ gesmstone.
