What personal data I collect and why I collect it

When visitors leave comments on the site I collect the data shown in the comments form to enable me to respond as necessary to the comments.

Contact forms

When visitors to the site contact me using the online contact form I collect the data given on the form to enable me to respond as necessary to any queries or comments or special requests.

cookies are somewhat inevitable in this day and age.  I do not store information gained from any cookies on my site but it is likely that PayPal or Stripe may harvest your details during the checkout and payment process. These instances should be covered by the agreements you have with your chosen payment processor and you should ask for their policies if you need mre information.

In the main, I do not include links to external sites.  Where I do suggest suppliers or sites of interest accessing these should be covered by the cookie settings on your browser.  Sites or suppliers that I recommend may store your information and you should confirm their policies with these directly.  If you have ‘block third party cookies’ enabled in your browser you may not be able to access any external sites that I give a link for; in which case you may copy and paste the addresses into your own search engine to access the sites directly.

Who I share your data with

I do not share your data with anyone else.  All data collected by barneycraft will be used solely to process requests made via my website and will not be retained without your express permission. (Opening an account or signing up for my newsletter constitutes express permission to retain certain data which will be fully explained as necessary).

How long I retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognise and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on my website (if any), I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). As the website administrator, I can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where I send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your contact information

your contact information may be used to provide the goods or services that you have requested but it will not be shared with any third parties without your express authorisation.

Additional information

I run barneycraft as an ethical and non-intrusive entity and I do not send unsolicited emails for any purposes whatsoever.  I respect any information that is freely given during the purchase process or when completing contact forms, or when signing up for newsletters, or when creating an account; and this information will not be shared by anyone outside of barneycraft unless I am required to do so by those who supply the facilities necessary to operate
